AFM Analysis program

AFM imaging apparatus on the 2nd floor of McKay uses file format not normally acceptable by any mass software. The files it creates have extension .hdf and are in Hierarchical Data Format. The format and routines are public domain and are available from http://hdf.ncsa.uiuc.edu/

AFM analysis program can read hdf files created by the AFM machine, do some minimal image processing while retaining physical information, and can save analyzed images in a more widespread .ppm format for further use.
